There are precious few rose grey males with Drambuie lines in North America. This young man is showing a very fine, very uniform, beautifully defined high frequency crimp. It is bright with very long staple length and organized into tight microbundles.
He is "spotless" in his blanket and his fiber is the typical very high frequency "vicuna" type described by Julie Skinner in her "Making of Champions, part 2". It is very lustrous and even finer than the 17 micron that Guns n Roses showed at the same age, likewise at age 2.
Follicle density at 23 months by Ian Watt was 51.38/mm2. We think that he can do a very good job of setting the table in a grey breeding program.

He has been tested in the GIFT program (2009) in Australia revealing:

AFD: 19..2 microns
SD: 3.6 microns
CVD: 18.7%
Comfort Factor: 99.1%
Length: 100mm
Curvature: 45.2 dg/mm
SD 'Along Fibres': 0.47 microns
SD 'Across Fibres': 4.24 microns

..."The 'across sample' SD" is 4.24...well below the average for alpacas, which is about 5.5 microns. The average fibre diameter currently places him in the 'Superfine' grade. Given the likely age, this alpaca is considered highly suitable for breeding towards elite fibre diameter.
Of further note is the even distribution of variation in fibre diameter as identified in the histogram (spread relatively symmetrical). This indicates a very low percentage of coarse fibres relative to the mean.
This alpaca is highly recommended for breeding for premium*
